Internet Explorer Will Not Open PopUp Windows

I do not have any pop-up blockers installed, yet all of a
sudden IE6.0 will not open java pop-up windows. For
instance, when I go to watch a music video at
http://launch.yahoo.com a page comes up saying I cannot
watch the video because the video pop-up was blocked.
However, as I previously stated, I do not have any popup
blockers installed. Could a setting within IE6.0 have been
tweaked? Please help.

Some firewalls have an option to block popups.
Some anti-virus programs have an option to block popups.
Some toolbars (like Google) have an option to block popups.
Similarly, have you changed your Security options to block scripting?

I have had the exact same problem, searched and found no
solution. I too visit launch frequently, so I am pretty
sure the cause may be the new Windows updates that were
posted everywhere a few weeks ago, or the ISEARCH toolbar,
that I just removed, whick curiously enough had a popup
blocker.

Until then I've never used a popup blocker, and know it
cannot be a firewall or anti-virus program. Also I have
set all the Java and scripting permissions in my security
options to either "enabled" or "low".

Finally, I have searched for popup blockers in both IE's
and Window's help docs, but apparently they've never even
heard of it. Odd.

I fixed it!!!!

At first I thought to download the Google toolbar and use
that to override any hidden popup blocker. Didn't work.

After reading more posts I though to try Windows Media
player, 'cause that's what Launch uses to show the videos.
(for me anyway). That worked.

So apparently it was Windows Media Player the whole time.
Come to think if it I did mess around with these settings
around the time I kept getting kicked out of Lauch player.

So sorry for butting in, but go ahead and try this:

Open Windows Media player click View->Options->Advanced-
StreamingMedia(WindowsMedia) and click the "Change..."
button.

In the Advanced Playback Settings Tab, in the Protocols
frame (where it says: "Enable the use of the following
protocols for reception of Windows Media over a network")
there are checkboxes for Multicast, UDP, TCP, and HTTP.

I noticed that HTTP was unchecked, so I checked it and
the "Use browsers proxy" checkbox. Clicked Apply, and it
worked! If HTTP is unchecked on yours do what I did. It
will use your configured settings, so it won't hurt.

Hope this helps!
