Matt

I'm using a cable modem and my pages open very quickly,
but I can't actually click on anything for about 15 to 30
seconds after the page appears. I've been using my modem
for about a year now with no problems. This only started
happening a few days ago and its getting very annoying.
Its like using dial up. I hope someone out there can
tell my why its doing this. I have also downloaded the
new Feb update for Explorer 6 but it doesn't help.

Download Spysweeper from spysweeper.com then do a sweep
of your computer. This will quarintine any programs that
affect your Internet explorer. The problem is being caused
by a program called Netpal that makes everything slow.
Make sure after the sweep you quarintine EVERYTHING they
find and then delete it.

Same thing is happening to me and just as recently. Pages
load quickly then freeze for almost 15 to 30 seconds. I
can't help solve the problem but hopefully there becomes a
larger awareness about this. I can't uninstall IE 6.0 so I
cannot re-install, which would potentially solve the prob.

same problem with my xp explorer 6.0 with latest service pack. I have been troubleshooting for several days...cleared cache trash cookies defragged ran adaware etc and still......explorer runs and finds and loads quickly, but when the "done" shows in the status bar and the status bar indicator should be "letting go" so you can again control the cursor and/or move the window/enter a field/minimize/maximize/scroll.....it takes like you said, about 15 to 30 seconds to enable...

i will try using another spyware locator regarding the netpal varmint!

Matt,
The first thing to do is to scan your system for the possibility of
unknown\unwanted spyware or parasites that may be causing your problem(s).

I have spent about 20 hours trying to fix this problem
Run "spy sweeper" then run "ad-aware" in that order.
Internet explorer is now running fine
