Internet Explorer Strangeness

I have a Dell system with windows XP Home. Over the past
few weeks,I`ve noticed a problem with IE.If I haven`t been
at my computer for awhile ( awhile could mean an hour or
so,or several hours),and I try to open IE( Yahoo,Google
ect..) from my desktop shortcuts, start menu,,or ALMOST
anywhere else,it can take up to a minute or more for the
page to open ( the cursor will go to "busy" then back to
normal once or twice as well). Oddly enough, once the page
opens,if I close it out,and then open it again,it will
open normally (which for my system and cable modem is of
course, FAST!)and as long as I am active during a
session ,it will continue to do so. As I said earlier, this
problem seems to occur after I`ve been away from the
computer. ( I usually leave my system running....Also, if
I access IE pages like yahoo and google from within
AOL,they open normally,even after I`ve been away), I`ve
tried many fixes ( Adware,Spybot, clearing cache, deleting
cookies,ect,ect,ect,including msconfig fixes concerning
running processes....)I`m wondering if somewhere along the
way(maybe after I first started using Adaware,I may have
inadvertently deleted a file or something? Any Ideas?

Thanks for the tip Mike,I did have hibernation "enabled"
but no specific time set for it to do so,I`ll give this a
try,but as I said in my original posting, I can log onto
Aol normally, and from within Aol, access the other I.E.
browser pages from my "favorites" category with the
usual "warp speed",and none of the other functions of my
desktop ( opening files and other programs ect,)seems to
be impaired or slow to wake from hibernation, and as far as
I know,my systems power/hibernation settings have never
been altered since I got the system ( 1 1/2 years ago).So,
if you have anything to add, please do! if not, thanks
again!
