Hello,I wonder if anyone can advise me,I recently had to do a system recovery on my new desktop and when I had reinstalled all the software,I had a newer version of Internet Explorer/Outlook Express, yet I had IE6 previously. In Outlook Express there is now NO link to IE above the bottom task bar, there was a link to the homepage.I downloaded a new copy from Microsofts XP web site thinking it would overwrite itself and add the link to the version I have now.It would not run the installation and said there was a newer version installed then quit.
It was very handy the link to my homepage, now I have to open IE everytime I want to check something on the web,so has the link been removed from never versions of IE/Outlook Express?
I know I will have to uninstall and reinstall the software, but any advice regarding which versions have the homepage link and which dont have the link if thats the case, anyway any help will be much appreciated, all the best...

Pete,

Seriously, I have no clue of what you are speaking of.....where in OE is
there an IE link?

XP installs the newest versions of IE and OE.
In Outlook Express there is now NO link to IE above the bottom task
bar.....

And what are you calling the bottom task bar?

Hello Kelly,
perhaps task bar was not the right word at the bottom of the screen when I open Outlook Express on my Notebook there is a solid blue bar/divider,directly above where it says "working online",it is here that there is a link to the homepage that is set in IE's options/properties,and there is also a web search box as well. When I open a folder ie inbox it is still there just below the preveiw pane,so I just click on the Wanadoo homepage link and it opens Internet Explorer. Now there is no blue bar and no links,it's gone, the layout properties are different slightly too between my notebook and desktop,on the notebook there are 8 check box's and on the desktop 7 the check box for info pane is not present on the desktops Outlook Express layout properties, perhaps it is this that is the missing item?
I hope this helps,I could send a pici of the screens so you can see the difference, anyway I hope this helps ...
Pete

That's not a normal part of Outlook Express.

Hi Pete,

This surely sounds third party. Send me the screenshots via email. :o)
