Internet Explorer: "memory could not be read".

Hi. I’m on a college network, and just yesterday they automatically
upgraded our antivirus software to McAfee 8.0i. Ever since the
upgrade, I’ve been experiening problems with Internet Explorer. When I
try to open it, I get the error "The instruction at "0x370036b4"
referenced memory at "0x00000428". The memory could not be
"read"."

I’ve defragged my computer, reinstalled IE, run my adware removal
programs and none of these worked. The only thing that did was doing a
system restore back to a period before the McAfee upgrade.
Unfortunately, that only works until the school network detects my
outdated copy and upgrades me automatically. Then the IE errors start
again.

Can anyone help me?

From your information it is apparent that this problem is caused by a
programming problem with the McAfee update that you are getting.

1. Try reporting the problem, including the details as you described
them above, to your College's Network Administrator. They may have a
solution.

2. Do you know if any other students are experiencing the same or
similar problems?
