Internet Explorer 7: Permanently delete old/disabled add-ons/activ

I didn't see a user group technical support/help forum, etc., specifically
for Internet Explorer 7, so I hope someone can either help me in this forum,
or direct me to the correct one to answer my inquiry:

1. How does one entirely delete old Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) browser
add-ons, BHO's, Active-X, etc., that are "currently installed" on IE7, but
disabled, from deleted, previous versions of software, or from old websites?
2. Even if they're not old leftovers or disabled, in general, how does one
permanently delete any "currently installed" IE7 add-ons?

Is it necessary to delete them from inside the registry by searching for
them using the "Find" and/or "Find Next" feature in "RegEdit"?
