Internet Explorer 6

I cannot get IE 6 to operate. I get a "cannot display webpage" prompt. Have
tried diagnosing (all fine), have tried to uninstall and reinstall. My
internet connection is fine (e-mail works, signal good), but I cannot get IE
to operate?

It may be a settings issue.
The first thing I do is check Tools-Internet Options-Connections
tab-LAN Settings and ensure "Use a proxy server...." is not checked.
(Mine resets occasionally, particularly after a power break or reset)

Control Panel | Internet Options
On the Advanced tab uncheck "Enable third-party browsing enhancements".
