internet explorer 6.0

i'am a pc dummy, but am learning. my system information
sez i got a corrupt internet explorer file. i try and
download it again but my p.c. sez i got a newer version
allready installed. i'am stumped. what do i do?

Pop your Windows XP CD into the drive. Then Exit the install. Go to
Start->Run and type SFC /SCANNOW and click OK. Let the process run it's
course and reboot when finished. Then visit the Windows Update Site and
apply any new Critical Updates you find.
