I keep losing my DSL internet connection through Bellsouth/AT&T. It's
connected through the Ethernet port. Their tech was out and said it was not a
problem on their end. Which I don't doubt as he hooked up his laptop through
the same modem and connected with no problem. I can get on the internet and
surf, but after a few minutes it goes out. The connection still shows active,
but no webpages will pull up. I try to renew the IP address and get no
result. The tech said I ma have a problem with the Ethernet adaptor, but the
same thing happens when I switch to the USB port. I can reboot the computer
and everything will work. The tech said I also may have a virus. I ran a
virus scan, but nothing was detected. I have anti-spyware and firewall
running. Any suggestions for a somewhat computer-illiterate person?
