My computer will not connect to the internet. It will however, connect to
other computer's on my home network, and it will connect to the web based
router config page. Both the other computers on the network are fine.
What I have tried:
Restart computer
Reset router and modem (cable)
Renew client list in router
Disable Local Area Connection and re-enable
Delete Temp Internet files, browsing History, Cookies, etc
Run Virus Scan
Run AdAware
Delete Prefetch
Clear CMOS
Remove and re-install NVidia Ethernet drivers
Disconnect from router and connect computer directly to modem
Tried Windows "Repair" in Network Connections for Local Area Connection
Reviewed Event Log-there is an entry for "Failed to renew IP address" The
Repair option said it had successfully renewed. Router says one is assigned
(and communication with other computers is OK)
Can anyone offer any suggestions?
Thanks,
Fitz
