Internet Connection Sharing

Benny

Hello,

I am having problems turning on Internet Connection
Sharing for my computer. I get this error message:

"An error occured while Internet Connection Sharing was
being enabled.

Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled.
A LAN connection is already with the IP address
that is required for the automatic IP addressing."

But i know that 192.168.0.1 is not being used. Anyone
know what the problems? Suggestions? Help! Thanks!!

Open a command prompt window, type this line, and see if any device
responds:

ping -a 192.168.0.1

There's an extra "6" in what you typed. Please try the command again:

OK. It's time to strip the network down and see where the problem is:

1. Disconnect all computers from the network except the one on which
you want to set up Internet Connection Sharing.

2. Open a command prompt window (Start | Run | Cmd) and type
"ipconfig /all".

3. If it shows a network connection with an IP address of 192.168.0.x,
where "x" is any number, you've found the problem.

4. Enable Internet Connection Sharing.

5. Connect other computers to the network one at a time and see if one
of them causes a "duplicate IP address" message.
