Internet Connection Sharing Error

I am experiencing a problem in trying to set up Internet Connection Sharing on
my XP Pro machine.

ICS was running fine on the PC, however a reinstall of the operating system has
now caused the following error whenever I try to turn on ICS. The error reads:
An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled. The
dependency service or group failed to start.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem is and what I can do to resolve the
issue?

My network is back up and running, the internet successfully shared amongst 4
computers.
