ICS Disappeared

Hi,

I have Windows XP Home on my laptop.
My wireless card has the capability to broadcast a network
and share an internet connection.

However, when I try to enable ICS, I get the error

"An error occurred while Internet Connection Sharing was being enabled.
The specified service does not exist as an installed service."

When I go to services, ICS does not appear under Windows Management
Instrumentation, where it should be. I can only see Security Centre and IPv6
Helper.

ICS used to work fine when I first bought the laptop, but for some reason it
has disappeared and I don't know why.

Is there any way I can re-install the service?

Thanks,
Angus

Angus,

First, remove IPV6.

Then, rerun the Network Setup Wizard. Select
This computer connects directly to the Internet. The other computers on my
network connect to the Internet through this computer.

No good, the wizard says that an error occurred.

I think that the ICS service has managed to get uninstalled from the computer.

Is there a way to get it back?

Thanks,
Angus
