Internet connection connects without permission.

Hi, I was just wondering if someone could please HELP me. I really dont know
whats going on.

Ok, I connect using dial-up. Then about 15 mins later i get disconnected.
The suddenly (without asking my permission) it dials again and connects. But
this time it is to a number outside the country. A number I have never seen
in my life.

My settings are set to never dial a connection if you just open the internet
explorer. You must click on the connection you want to connect to. I dont
know if it could be a virus. I have an anti-virus program and have scanned
for viruses.

I have taken a look in the event viewer and it says their than another user
has successfully connected. Again, a user I have never seen before. Not the
user that I used at the beginning to connect because it also says that the
first user has disconnected.

I would really appreciate it if you could respond ASAP because dialing
international is a lot of money in South Africa.

You likely have a trojan dialer.
Download update and run both Adaware and SpyBot, theyre both free.
Check yr dialup connections for trojan dialers.
Ensure yr Firewall is on and Win is updated, as to is yr AV app.
Get a better Firewall, Zonealarm is free. The winxp default firewall doesnt
block outgoing connections, eg this dialer.
