internet adapter

After I removed my DSL software,my computer says I don't have an internet
adapter. When try to reload the software, it won't finish the setup because I
don't have an internet adapter.I couldn't be on this site if I didn't? So how
do I get it back so I can finish installing my DSLsoftware? Where did it go?
