Guys, I would like to host an internal names space for my external domain
name. However, I am not clear on how to deal with resources that are outside
my internal names space. For example, I want to resolve mail.company.com
internally, but want to resolve www.company.com outside. Can someone point
me in the right direction?

Add the "www" record to your internal zone, but give it the public IP.

These are not really "name spaces" but rather external and internal names of
resources.

Just add all external resource names to the equivalent zone on the internal
DNS
servers -- if you don't have this zone, then you will need to create and
duplicate
it for internal purposes. Doing that is called Shadow DNS (aka split DNS.)
