Had to do a HDD format and reinstallation of Windows XP Home for a friend.
Running it on An AMD 3200 XP processor with 512Mb PC 3200 DDR Memory.

Reinstall went perfectly okay, but after leaving system off for a few hours
when we rebooted the whole thing froze just after booting, with no response
from anything, reset button etc. had to pull the plug to reset the machine
then reboot and it ran fine for a nother few hours then same thing happened
again. Any suggestions anyone.

Ramgir,

looks like a hardware error, a driver defect, or a
driver-hardware incompatibility to me.

To be sure it's not just something network related, you could
let the computer sit for several minutes and see if it thaws on
its own. If it does, then it may just be something like IEEE
802.1X authentication mistakenly enabled.
