XP freeze after F2 for ASR during install

i'm doing a clean XP install w/a blanked hdd. i like to break my p.c. just to
fix it so i reinstall quite often. never had problems till 1 night it froze.
i reboot and get a NTFS.SYS is damaged and so on. ever since then XP never
makes it beyond the hardware scan or F2 option. i have 3 hdds, 2 were
installed @ time. i swapped around now none work. did some hdd diag test and
found boot virus...thats why i wiped 2 hdds. i have only 1 hdd + cdrom
install now. SKANDISK reported error but also couldn't fix. i've tried
EVERYthing.i 'm stumped. any suggestions would be a big help....

hey don't everybody rush at once now. i used my primative rat brain to
resolve this complex issue**scurrys off to hole in wall**
