Intel CSA Gigabit LAN uninstalled/disabled after SP2 installation

The network card that is part of my ASUS P4C800E Deluxe motherboard
(Intel CSA Gigabit Pro/1000 CT) was uninstalled/disabled after/during
SP2 installation. I attempted to reinstall it through the ASUS cd-rom,
but it won't show up under network connections. I have no way to
connect to the internet now. SP2 was installed on top of a clean XP
install.
