We have 9 Windows XP/SP2 workstations logging in to a Windows 2003
server.

Is there a way on the server that automatically on login, a certain
group of users:
1) Map the S: drive to \\Server01\Shared
2) Show an icon for an application on the S: drive (S:\Program
Files\ESST\ESST.EXE

Thanks for any help.

Have you looked into assigning a login script through GPO?
The script could do a net use for the mapping and create a shortcut
(including icon) for tha app on the desktop?
Make sure that only the specific usergroup has the Apply Group Policy
permission on the GPO.
