Insufficient system resources

"Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested operation."

I just started getting this error on a machine with XP Pro SP2 connected to
my W2K domain whenever you try to access a network drive in Explorer or My
Computer. Interestingly, I am able to use the network drive e.g. to install
software by using Start | Run. The computer has 512MB RAM, and nowhere near
all of it is being used. Swap file size is set to 648-1344MB in size. I
tried searching on MS (Live search blows!) but the results I got back were
all about Vista. One reason our company has not taken the Vista "plunge". No
other XP Pro machines on our network are experiencing this issue. The
network drive is our fileserver (W2K3 Standard) with a 750GB drive. Any
ideas appreciated!
