Insufficient sound volume problem

Alan

I had to change my motherboard today and everything seems
to be working fine except my sound volume. I have to
crank my speakers almost all the way to get any decent
volume.

I have gone into control panel and all of the bars are at
maximum. It's not that I don't have any sound, but I have
to turn it up much, much louder to hear anything to hear
it. I have disabled the onboard sound on the MB (Asus K8V
SE).

Any ideas on where I need to go to fix this?

Thanks

Are you sure you've plugged the speaker connection into the right hole?
Such as using an analog connector instead of digital or vice versa?
