Installing XP

I just upgraded the hardware in my computer to a Core 2 Duo, new motehrboard
and new video card. I'm trying to re-install Windows XP but it gets hung up
on the device installation part and goes to a blue screen. The blue screen
says the installation was stopped to protect my computer and blah blah blah.
I don't know what is wrong. Everything looks good from a hardware
standpoint. Can someone please help? I have a feeling that I'll need to
upgrade to Vista.

When doing a re-install of the OS, disconnect all external devices except
mouse and monitor.

This is a mainstream/value intel motherboard.
***Update to the latest BIOS***. (dos floppy)
Download the drivers etc from Intel for this board.
Zero out both drives and run the diagnostics from WD. (dos floppy)
Only connect the floppy, CD/DVD and the one drive that you intend to use for
the OS.
Also beware of the ATI drivers. I had to revert back to the 7.3 without the
CCC.

good luck
