well im trying to install xp pro over my home installation on my new laptop.
i couldnt get xp pro to install because home had sp2 pre-installed on it so
now i have to uninstall it. problem is, my home installation does not show
that it has sp2 installed in the ad-remove program section. so how am i
supposed to upgrade if i cant uninstall sp2? a flat out format and install
is out of the question due to the fact that theres too many files on there
that i need. please someone help me figure this out. thanks in advance.

You can only remove SP2 if it was applied after the initial OS load.. if
your computer was supplied with XP Home SP2.. all is not lost though..

What you can do is slipstream SP2 into your version of XP Pro..

Here's how you do it..

Having completed the above task, you can easily upgrade your computer..
however, you may want to back up (save) all of your important documents and
mail folders as a precaution..

For all about installing, go to
