Installing XP Pro from SCSI CD

Have a lesser asset Adaptec SCSI controller, 2930CU. I can set the PC's
onboard bios to boot from scsi, then set the scsi controller's bios to boot
from scsi CD.
XP installation might be confused in this environment though, not sure.
Never tried it.

I have XP installed over 98. I am told that this caused problems.
What I would like to do is format the drive and just install XP again
new. I have a AHA 2940 SCSI controller with a SCSI CD burner.

Can I format the drive and still have the SCSI drive work to install
XP? As it stands now, I can not boot from the SCSI drive.

You would have to download the 6-Disk Floppy setup. It will have
native drivers for that SCSI controller which should load up your
SCSI CD-ROM. Once the Preinstall part of setup is complete it
will ask you to insert your XP CD-ROM in the drive to continue.
The XP Startup Floppy set download is at:

That might work if I had a floppy drive. :) I guess it is time to
toss the SCSI. I was already toying with the idea to take an ATAPI
drive out of my other machine. I guess that will be the easiest way.

Thanks

I've installed Win2K from by booting a SCSI CDROM drive. I don't see why
it would not work for XP the same way as long as the drive can boot.
