Installing xp on new build

J

Jeff

I am having trouble getting xp installed on a new computer
build.

I have partitioned and reformatted the hard drive and when
xp is going through its set-up right when it is about
done, I will get a stop error screen, either memory-
manegement. or it says to disable bios cacheing, buy when
I do that the setup will not run. Is there a particular
setting in bios I should be using or default?.

Any help would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

Run a Windows XP Compatibility Check, and see what hardware is causing
the problem. If you can remove that peripheral, remove it, and re-run
Windows Setup. Only after Windows XP is running properly should you then try
re-installing the hardware, and at that, be sure to go to the manufacturer's
web site and download a set of new drivers.
