Installing Windows XP with Service Packs

I have a volume license copy of XP which I need to install on 15 machines.
Unfortunately it is an old disk so I need to install SP2, then SP3 afterwards
which takes a long time (on 1 machines).

Is it possible to obtain or create an XP install disk which incorporates SP2
and SP3?

Thanks

Yes, use Autostreamer to slipstream SP 2 and 3. Google it. OR, if you
know someone that has the exact same type of CD with SP3, copy it and
use that.

First of all, it isn't necessary to install SP2 before installing SP3, since
SP3 contains all of the fixes in SP2.

But what you really want to do is "slipstream" SP3 into your installation
disk.

Here's a link to a utility that simplifies the process:
http://www.ubcd4win.com/downloads/AutoStreamer.exe

And the instructions for using it:
http://www.ubcd4win.com/slipstream.htm

Note that even though the instructions only talk about slipstreaming SP1a or
SP2, it works for SP3 exactly the same way.

Presumably, you already have the SP3 installer. If not, here's the link to
it:

It is if you have XP with no service packs. SP 3 won't know what to do.

Thanks Tim this is really helpful.

Incidentally when I tried to install SP3 it said it needed SP1 (yes, the
disk is that old!). I couldn't get SP1 but SP2 said it included SP1 so thats
how I got to where I am.

I will try what you have suggested.

Yes.

According to the page below, the slipstream may be done directly from
XP Gold (no service pack) to SP3, however one has "to enter the product
key during the installation procedure rather than have the option to
defer entering it until after installation is complete."

You need SP1 when you want to update a working system with SP3 but not
for creating a slipstreamed SP3 installation CD.
