installing VisualStudio.NET 2003

When trying to Install VisualStudio.NET 2003 setup does not run but Windows
Installer runs and the B57 Installer follows up followed by Broadcom
Installer which opens a command prompt for 2 seconds then closes and nothing
further happens.

If I try to run setup from Windows Explorer te setup screen appears with
only the first of the 4 setup steps active but when I try to click on it I
get this error from the Install Shield:

Command line Parameters:
/L language ID
/S Hide intialization dialog. For silent mode use: /S
/v/qn
/V parameters to MsiExec.exe
/UA<url to InstMsiA.exe>
/UW<url to InstMsiW.exe>
/UM<url to msi package

any ideas how to solve this problem. I am running Windows XP sp2 and the
installation CD worked fine on another Computer running Media Edition.

Did you check in the Knowledge Base about Media Center working with VS
2003 .net? You may need to install something to make it run but I am
not 100% certain. Was the machine where you successfully installed it
Media Center as well?
