Installing software problem

Chris

Hello,
I am having a tough time installing software on a machine
under an account that is in the Admin group. I am running
WinXP Pro with the latest SP and patches. When I go to
install the software it tells me that I do not have the
right privileges to install? When I log in as the
Administrator I can install it just fine. I know that it
is possible to install software under a different user
than the Admin but for some reason it is not allowing me
to do so. Could it be because the user does not have
admin rights on our network? Is there a way to get around
this if that is the case? Thanks for any help.

Only users with local "Administrator" rights can install software in XP.
The user may be in the server's Admin group and may not have Adminstrator
rights on the local XP.

If the user shows up in the users and groups folder (path:
right click My Computer -> Manage -> Users and Groups)
does that not mean that they are local admins?
