After installing the recovery (repair ?) console from the CD WXP Prof SP2
it will not run , I get error message (" unable to find Kdus.dll " shut down
computer)
when I select the consol on start up .
I have searched the Kb extensively and can find no reference .
Any help would be much appreciated

Thank you sincerely John , the item referred to W2000 I do not seem to get
the same option in XP , I may not have let the boot prog progress far enough
for fear of over writing everything .

The way to do it is a bit different if you have Windows XP Home. Here
is what you can do for any Windows XP version:

From a Command Prompt you can use the CACLS command. Issue these three
commands (pressing <Enter> after each):

cacls c:\ /e /g Everyone:f
cacls c:\ /e /g Administrators:f
cacls c:\ /e /g System:f

In the above commands c:\ assumes that the $Win_nt$.~bt folder is
located on C:. If its on another drive change the parameter accordingly.
