Installing new software aftr XP XP2 upgrde

Trying to install new applications...this error message pops up..."An
installation support could not be installed Interface not
registered." I've updted and tried to regsrv32.exe ikernal.exe and ctor.dll
with success and still get this error.....HELP !!

Amazing since the InstallShield Setup Engine (Version 6) is named
"iKernel.exe" or "iKernel.dll" regarding the later versions. If there
is a file named "iKernal.exe", scan the system for malware.

and ctor.dll with success and still get this error.
