When attempting to install Itunes, I receive the following error messages:

Error 46: Can not find or locate QuickTime ActiveX control.

I click okay then this error appears.

Error 1402: Could not open key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTime.qtl\shell. Verify that you
have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel.

I click okay and the program informs that Itunes was not installed.

I am listed as the administrator for the computer. Anyone have any idea
what to do?

thanks,

Fred

It's likely the key doesn't exist, hence, the error. Download and
install QuickTime separately and then try to install iTunes again. If
you have already installed QuickTime, go to add\remove in Control
Panel and remove it first before re-installing.

Fred....... this exact thing is happening to me. I cleared out all
files of previous downloads and tried to install quicktime first and it
still bombed out. Did you ever get it to work ? What did you do ?
