Installing applications on Vista

Hi all,
Just got new pc with Vista...
When I'm trying to install applications (as simple as Acrobat Reader) and
getting the following error message:
"Error 1324:The path My Documents contains an invalid character"
My account is the member of Local Administrators group.
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it?
Thanks,
Victor

Did you turn off UAC by any chance? It needs to be on for Acrobat Reader to
install. If UAC is on, did you right click the installation file and choose
Run as Administrator?

Are you pointing the install to "My Documents"?

Thank you for all replies...

I can't install not only Acrobat Reader, but other applications also... I
run then as myself, and it should be fine, because I'm the member of
Administrators group...
I don't point to "My Documents"...

Thanks again,
Victor

K... just asking because "My Documents" is not a "real" folder in Vista.
That might be the cause of your problems but how to get around that, I'm not
sure... can you change the destination folder during install? Apps should
install to the "Program Files" folder.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit installed.

Due some program limitations, I can't get my adobe cs2 to run.
So I want to wipe the drive clean & install my Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

My question is how & where is the Microsoft Windows Mail files located and
what is
the best way to back them up?

I really don't care about anything else. I have all my origional cd's for
all my other
software so that is not a problem. (Time consuming, but not a problem).

Thanks! Dave
