Error 1324 when installing applications

Hi,

I've just upgraded my PC to run Windows Vista Enterprise, it installed fine
and I've installed Office 2003 too. The trouble I have is when I try to
install other applications, eg. Adobe Reader, Citrix Presentation Client.

When I run the installer for these products, it throws up the error - Error
1324: The folder path 'My Documents' contains an invalid character.

Now, my pc is a member of a Win 2003 Active Directory Domain and the My
Documents folder is redirected using Group Policy to
\\servername\usershare\username\My Documents - which is the same for the 100
or so Win XP/Win 2000 machines in the domain. Only my new Vista install is
giving me this problem.

I've checked the Registry entries for Shell Folders etc and it's all valid
paths with no weird characters or anything.

Does anyone have experience with this or have a Vista machine in the same
scenario?

Hi Rossco,

I've seen similar posts in XP groups also. I believe the UNC path makes the Installer package go mad. See if mapping the path to a drive-letter helps.

\\servername\usershare\username\My Documents

Can be made something as:

z:\usershare\username\my documents
