installing another xp on main drive

i have xp pro installed on my main C drive with a partition size of
30gb. On the same drive i have my D partition of about 80Gb for data.

I am trying to put another xp in after C but before D using partition
magic 8 (creating another primary partition about 8Gb in size) but am
getting error 626 "the operation is to be performed on a hard drive
not visible from boot-mode".

Is it possible to do this with or without PM 8?

We need more details about your system, like what is the hard drive size.

In order to create a new partition, there must be available "unused" hard
drive space before the partition can be created. Also, the space between the
drive C: and Drive D: needs to also be "unused." If not, then you can not do
what you are trying to do.

To do these steps, providing you have available unused drive space is:

1) Move partition drive D: further down the "unused" drive space, so that
8-9GB of unused drive space is after drive C:

2) Create new partition

As always, always backup your "existing" data since
moving/partitioning/resizing partitions can cause the hard drive to be erased,
if the partitions get too scrambled in the processes.

There is about 9Gb of unused space between C and D.
Do i create the new partition as primary? and as NTFS? (currently C
and D partitions are NTFS)
