Installing a Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000

I have been trying for at least 2 days trying to install the keyboard & mouse
on my computer, but a manual did not come with it, so I don't know what I am
doing as I am a new user to computers, I have tried on line to get a manual
with discription on what to do with some illustrations to show me how to
install them, could someone help me, I am ready to throw it out the window.
 
did it come with a CD........the manual is on the CD.
shut down
Unplug the old KB and mouse............plug in the new
restart
When the new Hardware Wizard pops up point it to the drivers on the CD
