installing 2000SP

trying 2 install 2000 on D drive thru 98SE [C drive].
Went few steps, entered prod key, had to restart. Upon
restart, given option: Please Select Operating System To
Start: 1. Microsift Windows 2000 Professional Setup or
2. Microsoft Windows. I chose #1. Then msg appears:
The Operating System CD that you are attempting to install
was not distributed with this computer. Setup cannot
continue. CTRL-ALT-DEL only takes me back to same msg and
to get out, i must select #2 -- unless I F8 and go into
W2000 Advanced Options Menu. WHAT NEXT? This CD was a
retail purchase. Any suggestions? Thnx,

If that was me I'd contact MS to confirm that it was a valid MS disk, prior
to jumping on the retailer
