installer problems

Windows installer wont let me install a program, it keeps saying that the
installation package cannot be opened check the application to verify that
it is a vadid windows installer package. i tried to save to desktop and
then open it . Still says same thing. someone help please

My name is Kathy and I'm have the same problem. I'm new to this and I
really need help. So if there's anyone out there that know what to do please
help.
