Installer for MEDIA

When I click on my audio driver, or when I installed Media Player 11 I
receive a message that states "Windows could not load installer for MEDIA
see hardware vendor for assistance". I am also unable to access the sounds
icon of the control panel.

I am running Wundows XP pro with a Creative Audio PCI ES1371 WDM which is on
my Gigabyte motherboard.



Any suggestions???

Also when I run DXDIAG the "windows could not load installer for MEDIA"
message three times. In the network tab of DXDIAG the directplay8 has a
message that the registry file is missing or corrupt. Can this be the
problem or is it my sound card driver????. I am shocked no one has any
solution to this problem!!!!

I am experiencing the same problem trying to load a utility for Linksys
WMB54G. I get the message "Windows could not load the installer for MEDIA"
but I have been unable to locate anyone who has a fix for this problem. The
installer worked fine on two other computers but not this one. I tried to
install a new installer program from MS and got the same error message. I
sure could use some help.
