What is it that *exactly* happens (include complete text of any
messages) when you turn on your PC? Have you tried pressing F8
repeatedly during bootup?

Did this behavior happen immediately after you updated Flash?

It would also be helpful to identify your PC and tell us its specs as
well as the SP level of XP.

I get this message:

Windows could not start because of a computer disk hardware configuration
problem.

Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot path and disk hardware.

Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk configuration and
your hardware reference manuals for additional information.

I am booting xp, i have a dual boot xp and server 200
I tried to rebuild boot config. I get this message...... Failed to
successfully scan disks checking now with chkdsk

Ok, here is what my boot.ini says....

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional"
/fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINNT="Windows 2000 Server" /fastdetect

Does this make sense to anyone?
