Installation problem.....

Hi everyone, happy holidays. I went to go install my
Windows XP Professional software and i received the error
message stating, "An error has been encountered that
prevents setup from continuing. One of the components that
Windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.
The parameter is incorrect. Error: 'D:\I386\asms' the
parameter is incorrect." This is the message i received, i
press "ok" and i cant continue with the installation. If
anyone has any ideas i would truly appreciate it.
