Instaling Windows XP SP2 error

After downloading the iso file from technet (XP SP2) I get while installing
the
following error message:

Installation failed: D:\I386\asms. Error Message: Incorrect function.

Fatal Error:
One of the components that Windows needs to continue setup could not be
installed.

Incorrect function.

I searched the internet for a sollution, but all sollutions are about a bad
burn and
corrupt images. I downloaded the technet iso several times and burned it
serveral times. Furthermore I even tried installing it on a different pc,
with the same effect.

Can anyone help me on this one....

An .iso file has to be burned to CD as an image, not just copied to CD.
How are you doing this?

To burn the iso file I use Nero Burning Rom. Within Nero I use the option
burn image, this option is used to burn iso files and any other image files.

I agree with Rock. Check your setup and options within Nero. This error comes from burning a ISO image as a ISO image. Check the burned CD\DVD and see what file(s) is burned on it.
