Can both Office97 and Office XP be installed in the same WinXP?

Yes, Just install Office 97 first and maybe change it's destination
folder to something along the lines of...
C:\Program Files\Office97
After install, apply all the latest Service Release update.

Then install Office XP to the normal disk location and when
prompted don't take the Upgrade option which overwrites the
existing Office97 setup.

However, you should be aware that Office XP has the provision
to save files to earlier formats, so having two stand-alone Office
installs may not be necessary.
