Yes, with XP Home you won't be able to join a domain, use efs, and some
other things not needed for a home user. In other words just the normal
differences between Pro and Home :)

Since the only difference between Home and Pro are a few security related
issues and the ability to join a domain, there will be no difference in
performance between the two.

simple file access, Administrator account only available in safe mode.
Access to file/folder permissions only possible through safe mode, and
others. But in their core components they are the same.
