Installation Error

Windows XP Professional won't install. I get this error

SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy
file "C:\$WIN_NT$.~LS\I386\asms\1000
\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIPLUS\GDIPLUS.MAN" on line 4

Installation Failed: C:\$WIN_NT$.~LS\I386\asms. Error
Messsage: A component's file does not match the
verification information present in the component's
manifest.

That error message indicates a possible corruption of the file. Try installing from the original XP CD.
