can't install xphome over win98

That is a common error when someone tried to copy (most likely a pirated
version) of xp to a cd and does it incorrectly and then they try to install
it. You can't just do a disk copy of an xp cd, it doesn't work and you see
these errors. If this is a pirate copy of xp I suggest you buy a retail
version instead. If this is a retail version, I would say the cd is bad.
