"A required installation file "something.CAB" cannot be
found" and then it goes on to say that i need the
original source CD. I am not sure why it is asking for it
as it's in the drive trying to install (it's the original
CD that i just bought today)

Any suggesations?

can you be more specific with the file name? "something.cab" is not going to help
us to help you.

Perhaps it is talking about the Windows CD, not the Frontpage CD. (??). just
guessing here....without further info from you.

Have you noted the file it can't find then tried to browse the cd for that file?
or done a general search of your HDD for the file? so then you can tell the
intall program exactly where to find it.

So, the specific name of the file it's looking for
is "CC561401.CAB". I have two computers in our home and
now two retail copies of office. Both copies install
fine (i installed/uninstalled) one the machine not having
issues. So i guess i was able to rule out the media
being damaged.

I did try to search my machine for the filee but could
not find it.

thanks

Some users w/ slow or odd speed CD drives have had problems w/ installations
- try copying the CD content to your hard drive and running install from your hard drive
