I run xp home with SP2 and Norton Virus protection. It
downloaded and installed and did 1 scan of the computer.
But it won't run a quick / manual scan - there is suppose
to be the flying windows file when scan is in progress.
Also when I try and do a scheduled scan it changes the
time setting from say 22.00hrs to 10:00 hrs everytime I
update schedule. I've manually removed the files from the
1st scan but since removing/reloading the software 3
times now it still loads the original scan records even
though I removed it using Add/Remove programmes. Any
techy's out there that have simple fix. Cheers.

Please try this to see if it helps with the progress indicator missing:
-----------------------------------------------------
Registering a VB6 dll seems to fix missing agents:
1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without
the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware
4) If that fails, install VB6 runtime files:

------------------------------------------------------------

The problem with the scan time is a bug. You can work around it as follows:

If you need to scan in a PM time, you need to reset your time format to a 12
hour one, schedule the scan, then reset your time format back to a 24 hour
one.

One easy way to do this is to set US English as your language, then return
that setting to whatever it is now, once the scan is scheduled.
