Install winXP print drivers on win2k print server.

Okay I wrote this realy cool login script that automatically connects workstations to the nearest printers based on the computers account location within Active Directories OU. The only problem is some of the laser printers in my network require drivers to be downloaded from the server but under the additional drivers tab there doesnt appear to be a check box for windows xp drivers. Is there any way to install them so that xp clients download the driver when connecting

Thanks for any help.

See http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/AddDrivertoOldOS.htm.

However, if you don't have any Windows NT 4 client computers, you may be
better off replacing the drivers on your Windows 2000 Print Server with
"Version 3" model drivers if they exist for your particular printer models.
Many of the Windows 2000 Printer Drivers are actually "NT 4 and 2000"
drivers that use the "Version 2" printer driver model instead of the
"Version 3" model.

If the printers are HP LaserJet printers, see also
