Install/Uninstall problems

Windows XP Home.

Today I have tried to uninstall two programs on my computer (mouse pointing
devise and Nikon View). I have new versions that I want to replace the old
ones with. However, whenever I try to uninstall the old ones I get this
message.

"Setup failed to launch installation engine:
No such interface supported"

I can not install until I uninstall these old versions.

Has anyone experienced this situation before or does anyone know how to
resolve it?

See if you can reinstall the old versions first, then try uninstalling them
again from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.
